As of December 31, 2024, there have been no reports of fires directly associated with the late Pastor Charles Stanley or his former church, First Baptist Church Atlanta. However, several other churches have experienced significant fire incidents in recent years.

 

In July 2024, a massive four-alarm fire destroyed a historic chapel at First Baptist Dallas Church in Texas. The Victorian-style red brick church, built in 1890, was a Texas Historic Landmark. It took about 50 units three hours to contain the blaze. Fortunately, no deaths or injuries were reported. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

 

Earlier, in April 2024, a fire broke out at the Celestial Citizens Global Church in DeKalb County, Georgia, while the pastor was praying inside. The pastor managed to escape unharmed, but the building sustained significant damage.

 

Additionally, in April 2023, Pastor Stephen Cox of Bible Baptist Church in Simpsonville, South Carolina, shared a personal story about a fire that devastated his church in 2018. He lost his entire library and all his preaching Bibles except one. During this challenging time, the late Dr. Charles Stanley sent him a complete set of his books along with a letter of encouragement, expressing his support and love.

 

These incidents highlight the challenges faced by various congregations due to unforeseen disasters. While Pastor Charles Stanley’s ministry was not directly affected by such events, his acts of kindness and support have left a lasting impact on fellow pastors and their communities.
