Brisbane Lions premiership-winning coach Chris Fagan has officially re-signed with the club, extending his contract until the end of 2027. The announcement comes after Fagan led the Lions to their first AFL premiership in two decades, cementing his place as one of the club’s most successful coaches.

Fagan, who joined the Lions in 2017, has overseen a remarkable turnaround, transforming the team from cellar-dwellers to premiership contenders. Under his guidance, the Lions have reached the finals in five consecutive seasons, culminating in the historic 2024 Grand Final victory.

Speaking about his new contract, Fagan expressed gratitude and excitement for the future. “It’s a real privilege to coach this incredible group of players and be part of such a supportive club. I’m looking forward to continuing this journey and building on what we’ve achieved together,” he said.

Brisbane Lions CEO Greg Swann praised Fagan’s leadership and the culture he has fostered at the club. “Chris has been instrumental in driving success both on and off the field. His commitment to developing players and his focus on team unity have been key to our resurgence,” Swann stated.

The extension provides stability for the Lions as they aim to sustain their premiership success and continue developing their young talent. Fagan’s renewed tenure is expected to focus on further bolstering the team’s list and maintaining their competitive edge in the league.

With Fagan at the helm, the Lions are well-positioned to remain a dominant force in the AFL for years to come, much to the delight of their passionate supporters.
