BIG MOVE: Castleford Tigers bring in Warrington Wolves loanee as new signing….

Castleford Tigers have secured a season-long loan for forward Daniel Okoro from Warrington Wolves, effective December 19, 2024. This strategic move aims to bolster Castleford’s forward pack for the upcoming 2025 Super League season.

Okoro, who joined Warrington on a long-term deal during the previous season, is expected to bring significant strength and versatility to the Tigers’ lineup. The loan agreement includes an option for Castleford to make the move permanent, pending mutual agreement.

This acquisition comes as Castleford undergoes notable roster changes. On December 18, 2024, forward Kieran Hudson departed the club to join York Knights on a one-year deal. Hudson’s exit follows several other departures earlier in the year, including Jack Broadbent and Danny Richardson to Hull Kingston Rovers, and former captain Paul McShane, who initially announced his retirement before signing a two-year deal with York Knights.

To strengthen their squad, Castleford has been active in the transfer market. Notable signings include Innes and Louis Senior from Huddersfield Giants and Hull Kingston Rovers, respectively, both on two-year contracts. Additionally, the Tigers have secured Zac Cini and Daejarn Asi from Parramatta Eels, and Judah Rimbu from PNG Hunters, each on two-year deals. Jeremiah Simbiken from the Dolphins has also joined on a one-year contract.

The addition of Okoro is anticipated to enhance Castleford’s forward options, providing depth and experience as they prepare for the challenges of the 2025 season. The club’s recent recruitment efforts reflect a commitment to building a competitive squad capable of making a significant impact in the Super League.

As the new season approaches, Castleford Tigers’ supporters will be eager to see how these roster changes translate on the field, with hopes that the infusion of new talent will drive the team toward a successful campaign.
